El Rabit is an independent literary and artistic project rooted in the belief that the most enduring meaning in our lives comes from the genuine bonds we build as human beings.

It is an open space devoted to expression, craft, and the careful preservation of voices that deserve to be read, remembered, and encountered as art. It does not operate under any institutional umbrella and does not follow a prescribed ideological line.

Volume One is the first issue of the project. It brings together a selected group of writers and artists from Gaza whose work carries more than testimony.

Their pieces hold craft, voice, and a particular talent for transforming lived reality into literature and art that can travel across time, place, and language. This first volume is intentionally curated, not crowded, so each contribution remains visible and each work is allowed to unfold with dignity.

The book is built around two pillars, short stories and artworks. The texts move through different registers and inner worlds, while the visual works extend the reading beyond language, adding texture, mood, and another way of seeing.

The experience is designed to be coherent and spacious, a collection you enter slowly, where every piece belongs.

El Rabit is conceived as an ongoing project. Future issues will continue to spotlight emerging talents, expand the archive, and deepen the bridge between writers and readers, artists and audiences, Gaza and the wider world.

We aim to continue this work through new volumes, careful translation across Arabic, English, and French, and selected physical presentations of the artworks through prints and exhibitions.
